Road Tripping--Day 8

Friday, September 4th
Aunt Sharon, Aunt Judy, Nicholas, and I enjoyed our complimentary breakfast and coffee at our hotel. Then we headed to Michael's to buy some new flowers for my grandmother's gravesite. We got a smattering of all our favorites: an iris, a magnolia, a bird of paradise, a gladiola, a yellow rose, an orchid, and some fillers. We arranged them all pretty and took pictures. Then we had a had a drink in the gazebo across the street.
Then we were off to Alabama. I rode with Aunt Sharon and Aunt Judy rode with Nicholas. I grilled Aunt Sharon about my formative years. We arrived in Alabama and got a tour of the dome home.
Aunt Sharon and Aunt Judy have been building a geodesic dome home since around 2002. They recently finished it out enough to move in. It is not completely finished, but liveable (with plumbing, heat/air, electricity, etc.). Nicholas has never been to their land in Alabama. We were the first dome home house guests!
It was Aunt Sharon's birthday, so we went over to a friend's house for margaritas. Then we went out to dinner at an Italian food restaurant for delicious food.

States driven through: Georgia, Alabama
