Road Tripping--Day 4

Monday, August 31st
We enjoyed coffee in the morning with Stacey. She had to leave around 11AM to go to her first class of her 2nd year of law school. While she was gone, we went hiking on the Battle Branch Trail near her apartment which is part of the Chapel Hill Greenway. We could have followed it to the University of North Carolina (UNC) Campus. It was also near a nice community center/park/rose garden. We enjoyed looking at the roses before it started sprinkling.
We did head to campus for lunch at the Pita Pit and walked around campus a bit.
We met Stacey back at her apartment and went to the Sarah P. Duke Gardens at Duke University. More on that in another post.
We had dinner at the Barbecue Joint. They didn't have "real" BBQ sauce at the table...Nicholas had to ask for it! After a study break, it was time for ice cream. We were going to eat at The Yogurt Pump, because I love yogurt ice cream (as my 3 year old niece would say), but they only took cash, and we were fresh out. Instead, we went a few doors down to Ben and Jerry's. After Nicholas asked our ice cream scooper to wash his hands, we enjoyed our cold treat.
Back at home, I proceeded to get the perfect picture of Kaj, the world's largest lap dog that looks like a coyote.
This is what he thought of my efforts.
