1000 Hours Outside: May Summary

In May, we spent 104 hours outside for a total of 553/1000 for 2021 so far. Austin got 12.27 inches of rain and was one of the wettest Mays on record! We took a couple rain walks, splashed in some puddles, and played in a lot of mud puddles in the backyard. We visited 2 state parks, 2 national parks, and 1 national historic park. We had 2 backyard birthday parties, had about half our dinners outside, hunted the May wildflowers, did lots of rock hopping, and enjoyed fellowship and service with our church friends for the first time in over a year.

1000 Hours Outside: April Summary

In April, we clocked 153 outside hours for a total of 449/1000 for 2021 so far. We celebrated 2 birthdays outside, made 2 camping trips, visited 2 state parks, visited 1 National Forest, hiked a lot--including a rainy hike, hunted Easter eggs, and wildflowers, spent SO much time in the backyard on swings, and splashed in some rain puddles. As a bonus, we stumbled upon armadillos, a coral snake (in our backyard), a diamondback rattlesnake, a mountain goat, a blue heron, a bald eagle, and a giant colony of army ants.
