First Movie

We took Lil' D to his first movie Labor Day weekend: Planes.
The theater was empty when we went in and only two other groups of people came in. Lil' D was enthralled the whole movie! Now every time he sees a plane in a picture or in the sky, he asks "What's its name?"
After the movie we enjoyed dinner at Central Market with live music and gelato for dessert. What a lovely family evening!

Summer Projects: Part 3

Welcome to the next installment of our summer projects list. I planned to do a quick reorganization of our closet. I started pulling clothes off the shelf to find that all the middle support screws were no longer supporting the shelf. After some investigation, Nicholas found that the wall the shelves are up against is not flat, and the shelves were not hung as close to the wall as they should be. Which means, adding clothes to the shelves pulled the screws right out of the wall. Nicholas added a small wood shelf support to two of the closet shelves.
All the clothes had to go somewhere!
I reorganized the closet to take some of the hanging clothes off the shelves, and now everything feels open and clean and organized!

Secret Beach

Last Saturday we visited Secret Beach at Roy C. Guerrero Park thanks to a post from Free Fun in Austin! We love a good Secret Beach as much as anyone, and this was no Rhode Island Secret Beach, but was a nice little piece of fun in the middle of Austin.
Lil' D was super excited about taking his big sand shovel to the beach!
Wading fun in the river!
