Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center

A couple weeks ago we visited the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center with Nicholas' mom. It was a beautiful day. Many wildflowers were blooming, though not quite in full bloom, yet.
I promise Lil' D is not trying to eat bluebonnets...just a rock...
A friendly trail slither-er.
Beautiful California poppies
But Mom...I want to walk this way!

13 Months

At thirteen months, Lil' D is a pro walker. He now has seven teeth, can stand up without holding onto anything, gives high-fives, and has started dancing. He does a happy food dance when you like what you are eating (which is most of the time). He loves to play the harmonica, go outside, play ball, and help Daddy do outside "things" like sweep, rake leaves, and dig in the dirt. He drinks whole milk, eats pretty much everything in sight and is trying to decide whether he wants to take one nap or two everyday.

Dallas February Visit

We visited Dallas the last weekend in February. We left Saturday morning and stopped for lunch in Waco at Collin Street Bakery. They have many billboards along I-35 advertising delicious cookies and world famous chicken salad. The cookies were in fact delicious, though the chicken salad was nothing to write home about. Lil' D made a friend that was very excited to play with him!
When we got to my parents house, Lil' D really enjoyed playing with the play broom and mop.
No, he really enjoyed them!
Lil' D practiced standing in the grass!
Mini-J tried to play football with the big boys!
Blowing up an air mattress is great fun!
We stayed with David and Brenna Saturday night. Sunday morning we relaxed in their new breakfast room and watched the chickens.
Lil' D kept trying to get outside to the chickens!
Let me out!
We enjoyed breakfast tacos and coffee at a local taco shop. Then we went for a walk around the neighborhood to enjoy the beautiful day!
Deflating an air mattress is just as fun as setting it up!
Then we went over to my parents house. Notice that Lil' D is once again enjoying the cleaning tools!
Who's child likes to clean this much?
We stopped by my sister, Jackie's, house on our way out of town.
Lil' D practiced walking around with Aunt Jackie.
Then he took a peek at Mini-J's snake (that unfortunately died a few days later...totally unrelated to Lil' D's accidentally awaking of the snake with a flash drive...)
Mini-J showed Uncle her mad computer drawing skills.
