Fun Times in RI

After sending LJ off to the airport on Sunday, Nicholas and I headed to the train station to catch our 6:40AM train. There was a lot of running involved as we almost missed the train. We arrived in Providence within the hour and were picked up by Mama and Tater Sprout. We headed back to the House of Sprout for breakfast and morning greetings with the rest of the family.
We made the 9AM service at St. James during the first song! It was great to be back. St. James will always be a special place for us because it is where we found our first community and extended family as a married couple. The first ones are always special. We talked with old friends during coffee hour while Tater went to Kid's Club (a.k.a. Sunday School). Then we headed to brunch at Farnsworth Cafe.
We enjoyed some quality time with the kids and during naptime we played Wii, talked, and prepared for the Super Bowl. After dinner we had a mini-pre-birthday party for Tater with song, cupcakes, and gifts.

On Monday, we got some more quality time with the kids, and Nicholas visited RISD. We had a delicious dinner and played some more Wii, but by 10pm Nicholas was feeling sick. Oh, and Southwest informed me that our flights were canceled. After quarantining Nicholas and hoping he would feel better by morning, I rescheduled our flights and spent the night on the couch.
Tuesday morning, Nicholas was not feeling better and had a fever, so we headed to the urgent care clinic to find out he had the flu, and would not be flying before Friday, which is just as well since the flights I rescheduled twice were also canceled. We stopped by the pharmacy and headed back to the House of Sprout where I packed (read *threw/shoved) our stuff in our bags while Nicholas waited in the car so as not to reinfect the just disinfected House of Sprout (that has already been plagued with sickness pretty constantly since the Fall). Daddy Sprout dropped us off at the Holiday Inn Express where we are currently staying (read *stuck*) due to sickness and snow. The snow storm in Providence has been non-existent...or at least no where near as bad as predicted. I expect to wake in the morning with some cars buried. Stay tuned for the chronicles of our incubation.
