FINALLY! A Refrigerator

Our first really major purchase for our new house was a refrigerator. We did lots and lots of research to figure out what we would want, that was also energy efficient, and was pretty. (Nicholas probably didn't care about the pretty factor, but I did.) We went to a million different stores, did research online, and consulted Consumer Reports. We debated about what color to get since our stove/oven, microwave, and dishwasher are all white. We debated about how long we intend to keep this major appliance, and decided to wait on our dream refrigerator.
Then we FINALLY found the steal of a deal we were looking for. It came in the shape of a side-by-side, "stainless-look", beauty from Lowe's. Thanks to a sale at Lowe's of 10% off all energy star appliances, an additional 10% coupon we received in the mail for moving in, and a very generous gift card we received as a going away present from my Lunch Bunch group in RI, we were able to pay a fraction of the cost of the refrigerator! We spent a whole day going to 3 different stores to stock up our kitchen. After moving 2000 miles and being refrigerator-less for 2 months, we were in desperate need of FRESH food. I found my new favorite grocery stores called Sprouts Farmers Market. More on that in another post, but every time I shop there, I will think of one of my favorite RI families, The Sprouts!
This is a picture of the first meal we cooked in our kitchen with a fully stocked refrigerator. On the menu: Italian style pork roast, steamed green beans, bok choy apple slaw, grapes, a slice of bread, and a glass of red wine.
Since we are seriously not eating out again until December, we will be having lots of lovely meals in our dining room!

  1. Love the fridge - jealous! And LOVE the farmer's market name! I think we should be getting royalties from it!
