Tanglewood Adventure Numero Dos

We dropped LJ Turman off in Lenox, MA for a two week french horn workshop at Tanglewood's Young Musicians program sponsored by Boston University. We made plans to return to Lenox at the end of the two weeks to hear his final recital and hang out with him and his parents. We ended up missing the recital because it was Friday morning, and we couldn't leave RI until after noon, but we headed west anyway to enjoy the Berkshire mountains and stay at a lovely B&B in Lenox.
We checked into the Birchwood Inn just in time for afternoon tea on the porch (and super delicious chocolate chip cookies). It was a little overcast and rainy most of the time we were in Lenox, but we managed to miss the rain the times we were outside.

LJ was busy enjoying his last night at Tanglewood, so we went to dinner with John and Beth at this cute little Italian restaurant. We were greeted with an interesting scene from the Godfather playing on the TV in the bar area. Fortunately that was overshadowed by the fabulous food and drinks.
After dinner, we went back to our B&B and played Spades in our "library" common area (and ate more chocolate chip cookies). Then we parted ways.
We woke up Saturday morning to a delicious breakfast, relaxed for awhile, did a little reading, enjoyed the garden area and bid the Birchwood Inn farewell. Nicholas and I went to the Edith Wharton house, had lunch with the Turmans, did some shopping, and headed to Boston. We paid a million dollars in toll charges and found that our hotel was on the worst street possible, but it was a Holiday Inn Express (our favorite!), and there was a shuttle to the airport so I didn't have to get up super early to take Nicholas and pay the airport fee. No worries; I was a good wife and booked him a direct flight from Boston to Austin on Jetblue with extra leg room and his on TV.
