Wickford Art Festival

On Saturday, we went to an art festival in Wickford, RI. Wickford is supposedly a picturesque village with waterfront streets and one-of-a-kind shops. We thought it would be fun, and hey, you can never go to enough art festivals, right? The waterfront views were beautiful.
We wandered into a few shops, but it was hard to get the "Main Street" feel with all the artists booths lining the street. There were hundreds of artists. It is wonderful to see that many artists gathered together in such a small town in such a small state. Although, most of the artists were painters that painted things we weren't interested in.
We had lunch at the Beach Rose Cafe on the water. Nicholas ordered clam cakes and chowder. I don't think he had ever had clam cakes before, and I think we both had crab cakes on the brain. So we were surprised to find hush puppy looking food on his plate. He started eating one and thought it was a hush puppy so he went and checked with a server. He did eventually find a clam in the midst of all the fried dough.

It was a beautiful New England day to be out walking around the water and art.
