Boston with the Aunts

My aunts, Sharon and Judy, came to visit for a few days from Alabama. They got in around 11:30pm Friday night and flew out at 5:30am on Wednesday. Saturday morning we woke up leisurely, and I made yummy four grain pancakes. After Nicholas and I worked out, we all got ready and headed up to Boston.
On the way, we stopped to have a seafood lunch at a hole in the wall restaurant. Aunt Sharon had clam cakes and chowder, which are super popular round these parts.
Then we drove around Boston a little bit trying to find the Boston Public Library. It was pretty amazing, but more on that in the next post.
After wandering around the library for awhile, we circled around Boston Commons several times and snapped a picture of the Cheers bar.
Then we went to the Holocaust Memorial. It consists of 6 glass towers representing the 6 concentration death camps. Each tower is etched with 1 million "numbers" that were tattooed on the 6 million Jews that were exterminated. This is the third or fourth time I have been to the memorial, and I get emotional everytime. It is extremely powerful, and well worth a least one visit.
Next we visited America's Oldest tavern for a drink and small respite from walking around before we headed back to the car.
It was dinnertime when we made it back to Providence, so we headed to Cuban Revolution (because no visit is complete without a little Che fries). Here is a picture of Ramone, who has been our server on all our most recent visits.
