The funniest thing about driving around at the tip of the Baja Peninsula was that it was the desert. Then all of sudden (when you came to a resort-y area probably targeted towards Americans) you would see GREEN grass, the color of golf courses, and bright flowers in pinks, yellows, purples, and reds (the kind that don't grow in the desert).
The other funny thing was see actual golf courses with desert land/sand interspersed between the holes.
