Nursery Project #2

We have slowly been making progress in the nursery. We have repurposed another piece of furniture for the nursery. This time, an old bookshelf, that will still function as a bookshelf. :) Here is what it looked like before. Who knows how old it is, but it has moved from Nicholas' parents house to Nicholas's apartment in Wimberley to three apartments in Rhode Island and then back to our house in Texas. It has lived in the same room in our house the whole time...what once was my office and will now be the nursery. So here is the before:
And now, so not so impressive shots of the after. I painted it the same dark grey you are getting a preview of on the walls. It is not the right type of paint to paint a bookshelf, and it will scratch easily, but it will serve its purpose for now...and makes me much happier than the old wood color.
I shelf papered the slide out shelves with the same paper as the changing table.
The nursery is pretty complete...it still needs a few finishing touches but is leaps and bounds above what we had for Lil' D's nursery. He didn't have a crib until he was 5 months old! Stay tuned for a nursery preview later this week.

  1. Have you tried the plaster of paris trick to make paint stick to shiny surfaces...amazing!
