At the beginning of 2012, I wrote this post on my pursuits for the year. Here is how I faired--
1. Plan and Save for Kitchen Renovations--This did not happen at all. Nicholas spent most of the year staying home with Lil' D, so we are still a single income family. We have made several plans for the kitchen, though! In addition, Lil' D started preschool at our church in September. Over the year, Nicholas has had to replace our hot water heater, repair the oven, repair the dryer, and our dishwasher is currently out of commission due to a leak that has ruined the floor. We will be making some changes to the kitchen this year, though, not as awesome as we would like!
2. Learn to cook with more of the food I want Lil' D to eat. I specifically called out kale, quinoa, beets, and brussel sprouts. Everything except beets have been added to the regular rotation of our menus. Nicholas has found a beet and goat cheese sandwich he loves at his favorite lunch spot, so we are getting some beets in our diets, and Lil' D loves it!
3. Let Nicholas do more. Nicholas spent most of the year being a stay-at-home dad, so he definitely was doing more of the care taking of the baby. The cleaning of the house and such really hasn't been kept up by either of us. We need to find a balance of living in less clutter (perhaps get a working dishwasher :)) and still spending quality time with Lil' D.
