One of our family goals for January is to spend 1000 hours outside this year. Already, this challenge has helped get more outside time in during the week when we struggle with virtual school and full-time working from home. In January, we tallied up 80 hours of outside time! We fit in a good family hike most weekends, visited 4 state parks, spent one night camping, enjoyed a REAL snow day, and explored the family land. We also took a lot of neighborhood walks including walks where we went puddle hopping after rainstorms, and went for a snowperson hunt after our snow day to see the snowpeople that were still standing. We rode bikes, played with sidewalk chalk, had outdoor picnics, and spent some time rolling down a hill. We also enjoyed a few front yard dinners with friends where the kids ran around and played.
