SB Road Trip: Day 8

Saturday was our final day of Spring Break, and it was a driving day. We woke up early in our hotel room in Vicksburg. We got ready, packed up and had breakfast at the hotel before leaving. It was our first hotel stay as a family of five (though not the first time to all sleep in the same room), and it was mostly a success, especially considering Baby Bro was not feeling well. I really wanted to stop at the Mississippi River Visitors Center because I have fond memories of all our trips there when I was growing up traveling between Dallas and Georgia to visit my grandparents. So even though it meant we needed to stop after only driving for about 15 minutes, I really enjoyed showing the boys the "Mighty Mississippi"!
Our next big stop was in Shreveport at the Science Museum. We had a great time exploring (and got in for free with our Austin Children's Museum membership).
The boys even got to pet a baby alligator!
We got home around 6pm after driving all day, but the boys were really good!
Road trip verdict: We can successfully travel long distances as a family of 5!
