Summer 2014 Recap--July and August

Better finish blogging about summer before I blog about Halloween!
July found us meeting new friends and taking our first road trip to Dallas for 4th of July weekend. Big Bro went fishing for the first time and caught 2 fish!
There was lots of fun with grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins.
Mommy, Big Bro and Lil' Bro also has lots of fun together. We visited the Thinkery and picnicked in the park.
We visited the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center Family Garden.
Daddy spent ten days taking the high schoolers to the Boundary Waters in Minnesota. We tried to stay busy! We went to a ranch in San Antonio for Mommy's company picnic.
There were Longhorns! And we spent lots of time closely together.
We visited Laguna Gloria, and looked at art outside. Then we went to Mayfield Preserve next door and hunted for peacocks.
Aunt Sharon and Aunt Judy visited (to meet Lil' Bro and help Mommy!). We visited the Umlauf Sculpture Garden and Austin Nature and Science Center.
Then we enjoyed lunch at Chuy's!
Family came to visit, and we enjoyed more time with grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins!
We took a special family hike when Daddy got back in town.
Then we went to Corpus Christi, enjoyed some fishing on the beach, swimming and visiting with Pastor Ron.
The beginning of August found us crossing off more things on Mommy's list of adventures: Texas Memorial Museum, library reading, and a Round Rock Express baseball game.
We rode the metrorail from North Austin to downtown and enjoyed swimming with friends.
We tried to experience as much as possible the first few days of August, like a family hike at Lake Georgetown and visit to the Wildflower Center Family Garden.
We had an evening dinner at Trudy's before Big Bro had his first surgery--tonsillectomy and aednoidectomy. The surgery went well, and he spent two weeks recovering. We were pretty much house bound and watched lots of movies!
And then, in the middle of recovery, Mommy had to go back to work! It was a sad day for Mommy. I enjoyed my summer with the boys so much!
Since Big Bro was recovering for most of the rest of August, we had a few visitors bring him special treats. One of the first things we did when Big Bro was feeling better was visit BookPeople for storytime and lots of reading. What a great end to "summer!"
