1000 Hours Outside August Summary

111 outside hours in August put us at 896/1000 for 2021! We visited 4 national parks, 2 national monuments, 5 nationals forests, 4 state parks, and took a few walks in our neighborhood. 92 of our months hours came from our big Southwest Summer trip at the beginning of the month. We hid inside for awhile to recover and haven't logged many hours between the August heat and the boys going back to school.

1000 Hours Outside: July Summary

 In July we totaled 66 outside hours for a combined 785/1000 hours for 2021. We visited 1 national park, 3 state parks, a zoo, a botanical gardens and did lots of waterfall hikes. We swam, picnicked, roasted marshmallows, picked lots of wild blackberries, and jumped on the trampoline in the rain. We spent time with family, college friends, and our church friends. The boys enjoyed some opportunities to play and explore new playgrounds. We saw snakes, alligators, snails, lots of birds, and a black salamander. We also got a little burned out of counting outside hours so we took a break inside in the AC.
