The Turman's have been a major part of my life for the past many years. 17 year old LJ is an extremely talented french horn player and has attended Tanglewood Young Musicians camp in Lenox, MA the past few years. It has been a wonderful coincidence the past few years that Nicholas and I were living in Rhode Island and could help transport LJ to some of his music camps. Most recently LJ flew into Providence to spend the night on his childhood couch so Nicholas and I could drive him to Lenox (about 2.5 hours away).
Nicholas was driving back from the Glass Art Society Conference in Corning, NY when LJ arrived in Providence, so LJ and I went out to dinner and caught up on the events of life. The summer before your senior year of high school is a super exciting time. Nicholas didn't get home until 11:30 pm...so Nicholas and LJ caught up on the drive to Lenox the next day.
We set out to Lenox early on a Sunday morning, stopped for breakfast at Dunkin Donuts, because America runs on Dunkin. We had a nice drive. LJ caught Nicholas up on the day in the life a senior in high school.
We got to Tanglewood and checked LJ into his 2 week workshop. We found out that LJ was missing his medical forms, so he had to call him mom to fax them.
Then we helped him get set up in his dorm, and Nicholas found his perfect chair with a built in "lean-back."
Then Nicholas and I get to spend some much needed quality time together on the drive back to Providence.
