Our one night B&B stay in Lenox, MA was very nice. We stayed at the Birchwood Inn, in the smallest bed they had, but still had a private bathroom (a plus!). There is usually a 3 night minimum stay, but we lucked out with grabbing one night (since someone else had booked Sat-Mon) on Friday.
The innkeeper and assistant innkeeper were very friendly, attentive, and helpful. The inn itself was beautiful and well laid out. The "library" common room on the first floor was, of course, my favorite. The smell of old books permeated the air!
There were some nice gardens. Although it was wet/rainy while we were there, we did get to walk out and enjoy the gardens a bit. I'm sure it would have been even more amazing if it was sunny/dry!
The day we checked in, we made it just in time for some mint iced tea and homemade chocolate chip cookies on the front porch. Someday I want a beautiful front porch with room for cute rocking chairs.
Our room had a side table that doubled as an old Singer sewing machine table (complete with the sewing machine) and mirrors hung for short people. I don't think Nicholas appreciated the view of his neck in the mirrors!
Saturday morning, breakfast was divine! There was a buffet with bran muffins and Parmesan basil bread. Then we were served our two course meal beginning with nectarine crumble. I love it when dessert comes first! For the main course we had a tomato basil quiche and grilled veggies. Everything was wonderful!
