The 4th day of Christmas brought us back to Austin to celebrate Christmas with Nicholas' family. Our drive down I-35 was much more eventful than we would have preferred, but the delays we encountered, thankfully, didn't last too long. We arrived at our "base camp," unpacked, did a load of laundry, freshened up, and headed over to the in-laws house.
We had dinner at a new restaurant called Jack Allen's Kitchen. It had only been open 9 days and was FABULOUS! It is in the location of the restaurant we had our rehearsal dinner. It is not a very good location, but hopefully the star talent and amazing food will keep this place going "long time."
We had some Texas Blue Crab dip and bacon wrapped quail for appetizers. For dinner, I had a wedge salad with green goddess dressing, cottage cheese, and tomatoes and the fish tacos off the appetizer menu. Nicholas had the 5 spice pasta. Jeremy and Bo had the sirloin-chicken fried, and Mom J had the shrimp tacos. Muy delicioso!
After dinner, we headed back to the house and watched Transformers 2. We enjoyed a fire and our cookie stockings that Santa brought.
And, of course, took pictures with the tree.
