Our Christmas in Dallas was a whirlwind couple of days jam-packed with family. On Christmas Eve, my aunt, uncle, two cousins, and two second cousins came over to my family's house. My aunt from Alabama also flew in.
On Christmas Day, we went to visit my maternal grandfather, who currently lives in an assisted living facility in Dallas. We brought him some gifts of clothes, and chocolate covered cherries (his favorite!). It was a nice little "girls" trip.
We also enjoyed a lot of aunt and uncle time with Baby A. She is four months old now, which I think is the perfect age. She smiles when you act silly and make funny faces/sounds. She doesn't cry much, and she is still too little to crawl around and destroy stuff!
She also doesn't complain much when you give her lots of kisses!
Over the weekend, we visited my paternal grandfather who lives alone in Sulphur Springs. He doesn't hear very well and can't talk on the phone (or respond to letters) so it is always a surprise when we show up on his doorstep!
Since he can't hear, he has attached a piece of newspaper to the air vent so he can see if air is blowing. It always makes Nicholas laugh, so he took a picture.Nicholas also had lots of fun playing with my little sister, Kendall's, new 9 1/2 week old puppy, Callie. You know you have lived close to family long enough when your 3 year old niece bids you farewell not with "Bye!" but with "Aunt Dana, Uncle Nick, don't gooooo!"
