For the children's sermon yesterday, the pastor asked the children which was better: a bag of chocolates or a bottle of water. I am sure you can imagine the reaction amongst the kids (and congregation). Pastor was using the analogy to illustrate that the way of Jesus (water bottle) is better for you, and we know that it is better for us, but we often chose the way of sin (bag of chocolate) because it feels better at the time. At the end of the sermon, all the kids got a piece of chocolate, except Lil' D. He didn't need chocolate, was oblivious to the fact that everyone was getting a piece, and doesn't scream about getting any yet. Nicholas joked later that even if the two choices were put in front of him, he would have chosen the water bottle because he is obsessed with all things resembling adult drinking containers! If only we all got so excited over a bottle of water, or the way of Jesus, for that matter!
