On Labor Day we visited the LBJ State and National Park in Johnson City.
We brought our lunch and enjoyed a picnic.
The boys found a little frog and let it go in the grass. Then they found a BIG frog in the tree!
Then we visited the Sauer Beckmann Farm. It is a living farm from the late 1800s who were neighbors to the Johnsons.
We picked some eggs from the chicken coop and learned all about how food was cooked in the kitchen.
Then we took the driving tour of the LBJ Ranch. This was the one-room schoolhouse where President Johnson went to school.
We pulled over to the side of the road so Mommy could feed Baby Bro. The big boys oogled the cows.

Then we stopped at the Texas White House, President and Lady Bird Johnson's home on the ranch.
Under the hanger, we peeked in "Air Force One Half." The Johnson ranch has an airstrip, but it was not sturdy enough to handle Air Force One. President Johnson would fly into Austin or San Antonio and then take a helicopter or this smaller Air Force One plane to the Johnson ranch.
The boys were great!
