We had a wonderful 4th of July 3-day weekend this year! Friday morning, we went to Pedernales Falls State Park. We had a great time hiking around the falls, walking in sand, and trying to keep from walking in the water. It was busy, and there was not swimming allow within two miles of the falls. After finding a prime parking spot in the shade, we had a picnic lunch in the car.
On the way home, we expected our tired children to nap. They did not, so we dropped them off at Grandma and GranBo's house for the evening.
Well, Mommy and Daddy were supposed to have a date night and the boys were staying with the grandparents all night (for the first time since Lil' Bro was born). Nicholas and I had dinner at ZTejas and then went to our first EVER concert after 10 years together! We saw Dashboard Confessional and Third Eye Blind. It was a fabulous show!
Saturday morning, the boys went to the neighborhood 4th of July parade with Grandma and GranBo. Their first parade!
Saturday afternoon, we went to our neighborhood pool. The boys had a blast!
Saturday night, we went to the Buda Fireworks show at City Park. GranBo joined us.
We borrowed some ear protection from some friends, and the boys loved the show!
Sunday morning, we went to church. Then we headed to McKinney Falls State Park. We enjoyed a great hike from the Upper Falls to the Lower Falls.
Then the boys waded in the water a bit.
We went to Grandma and GranBo's house for dinner. The boys enjoyed playing in their separate corners!
