Nicholas has started a new business called Visual Ministry Consulting with the vision of increasing the visual vibrancy of worship. Shepherd of the Hills is his first client, and Lent and Holy Week were his first big projects.
For Lent, Nicholas made a "road" representing the Journey to Jerusalem that stretched from the organ to the cross. It stayed up through the Saturday before Easter.
Maundy Thursday, we had a Living Last Supper. I was the narrator and controlled the lights. Nicholas veiled the cross at the end of service.
Jesus washing Peter's feet.
For Good Friday, Nicholas created a "shadowbox" where scenes were acted out service by Nicholas and Jacob.
The Road to Jerusalem came down on Saturday in preparation for Sunday.
And on Easter morning, the tomb was empty!
And the colorful sails of Easter morning were up in the sanctuary.
Nicholas ended up working 68 hours Thursday, Friday and Saturday of Holy Week. What an amazing worship experience!
