We have been busy working on the nursery over the past few months. Here is a look at the way way "before" shot of the nursery from when we first moved in (almost 5 years ago!). The office has evolved over the years as the catch all place for everything else that doesn't have a home..futons, couches, artwork, random "stuff." This was the hardest part of preparing the nursery...finding a home for all the stuff that didn't have a home. Admittedly, there are many things that still do not have a home. Baby steps...The nursery isn't finished, but it is much further along than where Lil' D's nursery was. Lil' D had a toddler bed, but no crib until he was 5 months old...and we never created the "nursery" I envisioned in my head.
We painted the walls a dark grey below the chair rail and light grey above the chair rail. Then I painted stripes around the room over the light grey.
We have a comfy new chair.
I took the door off the closet and hung up a curtain.
And we have a new, fully functional fan! The old fan stopped working shortly after we moved in...and was flowery. This room was clearly a little girls room for the previous owners. When we moved in, the wall above the chair rail was lavender and it was a cream color below the chair rail. Then I painted the top half of the wall a cream color and the bottom half of the wall a shamrock color. The ceiling and trim desperately need painting...maybe one day!
Love the stripes!
