On December 1st, we went to the Chuy's Children Giving to Children Parade benefitting Operation Blue Santa. We met friends at the Patino's house for breakfast, and then we walked over to the parade.
Lil' D sitting on a bar stool like a big boy!
We arrived after the parade had started, but just in time to see the first big balloon!
This was Lil's D's first parade, and he was enthralled with all he saw. There were many adorable expressions of awe and lots of stretched arm pointing at all the exciting things he saw.
He watched the beginning of the parade from atop Daddy's shoulders, the best seat in the house.

Sweet dancing feet to the bag pipe melodies
Halfway through the parade, everything stopped. Then all the children crossed the blue tape and put the toy donations they brought in the back of empty pick-up truck beds. Afterwards, all the truck beds were overflowing with toys like this one! What a marvelous sign of generosity!
Jamming to the Tejano band
It was a great parade, and Lil' D enjoyed it immensely. Perhaps a new holiday tradition!
