Southeast Family Vacation, Part 1

In early July we took our first long distance family road trip as a family of 6. We visited Alabama, Georgia, North Carolina and Tennessee. We started out with an overnight drive to the Alabama Aunts house where we spent the 4th of July.
Friday, we drove to northern Georgia where we met Nicholas' family for a stay in an awesome house! Along the way we stopped at Cloudland Canyon State Park and hiked to our 1st of 3 waterfalls on our trip.
Our house was in the mountains and awesome! The boys enjoyed the playscape.
We visited Helen, an alpine village for tourists! Then we went to Babyland General Hospital, birthplace of Cabbage Patch dolls where my grandparents used to take me as a little girl.
The next day we went an awesome 4 mile hike to our 2nd waterfall where boys got to do some exploring in the water!

Fredericksburg Weekend + Enchanted Rock

Nicholas and I squeezed in a little getaway to Fredericksburg at the end of May. We spent the night at a cute little AirBnB guest house. We had dinner in town amidst the rain in a cute little Italian restaurant.
We had breakfast at a local restaurant. Guess who's plate that is? Then we went hiking at Enchanted Rock. We started with the Summit Trail to the top. It was an amazing May day...overcast and 75 degrees! We couldn't have asked for anything better. AND it had just rained so there were pools of water on the top of the rock! I love Enchanted Rock in May. Yellow wildflowers and ground cover against the pink granite is delightful. Since we were adult paced hiking, we could hike all the trails. It was great! We can't wait to take all the boys back.
