Inks Lake

On Columbus Day, we wanted to have an exciting State Park adventure. We ventured out to Longhorn Cavern State Park, but the credit card machine was down, and we did not have enough cash to make it into the cavern. Plan B was to go down the road to Inks Lake State Park. However, we hadn't really prepared for an outside, not so shady hike on a pretty hot day...at noon. So it was a short hike, but the boys still got some exercise fun in. 

We had a great time looking at the prickly pear fruit on the cactus.

Daddy got a few cactus splinters in his hand peeling the skin off the prickly pear so we could try it.

Elgin Christmas Tree Farm--Pumpkins!

Last Saturday we visited Elgin Christmas Tree Farm for the Pumpkin Festival.

We enjoyed a hayride through the "haunted" forest, an adventure through the corn maze and storytime with sign language lessons.

Big Bro also had a blast doing rubber duck races and playing in the hay mountain!

C's Birthday Party

We had a great time at C's 4th Birthday at Hoppin House.

Anniversary Weekend

Nicholas and I celebrated our 8 year anniversary on Sept. 22nd. We had a special date day the Saturday before. After dropping the boys off at the grandparents house, we enjoyed a walk at the Lady Bird Lake trail.

After a quick clean up we headed to St. Philip for some lunch! It was divine.

Then we headed to Jester King Brewery.

And Deep Eddy Vodka Distillery...

For dinner, we went to Alamo Drafthouse on South Lamar and saw Trainwreck. 

We drove to Top Golf to end the evening, but decided it was too busy and too expensive for the rest of our night. We picked the boys up Sunday morning after breakfast. They missed us, I think!
