Works in Progress

I would love to post pictures of our entire house a little quicker than I am, but we still have works in progress. This is our disarray.
Our laundry room sans washer and dryer, located upstairs.

A preview of the guest bathroom. I have painted the room "acorn spice" but still need to paint the trim. Then I was let you in further.
My office needs some work. It would be really great if I could the keys to the filing cabinet!

Intense Mountain Biking

While in Colorado, Nicholas did some mountain biking, IN THE MOUNTAINS.
I am told the trail was rough, and he wasn't fully prepared to spend as much time out as he did.
In the end, it was worth seeing the beautiful reservoir.
It was a windy day and a little tough to stay on the tiny trail.

Happy Birthday, Miss Wiggles!

Miss Wiggles isn't actually related to me (although, I would have no problem with her calling me Aunt), but I have known her since the day she was born. We bonded from the first day I went to change her diaper and thought I was going to hurt her because she was so tiny!
Today, she is 1 year old, and I wish I was in Rhode Island to give her some love. I miss her and her devilish grin. I miss her perfectness.Happy birthday, Miss Wiggles! Stop growing up so fast and having so many new milestones before I get to see you again! We love you and miss you from miles away.

Estes Park

Estes Park, the gateway to Rocky Mountain National Park is another place Nicholas and Jeremy visited.
On this day, they took a drive. There was no hiking on this day, just driving.
They were able to see the Elks bugling. Notice the male elk bugle and the "harem" follow after.
All I can leave you with are beautiful Fall Colorado pictures. Since Jeremy got a foot of snow today, I can only imagine what it looks like now!

Half a Bathroom

Call it a bathroom, restroom, lounge, powder room, lavette, or a loo, just wash your hands with soap before you leave.
We have a tiny "powder room" downstairs. I painted it Duchess Blue in a metallic paint, walls and ceiling. I love small, dark bathrooms!
The small space and the paint color make it hard to get decent pictures on my little point and shoot camera, but you should be able to get the idea! Enjoy.

Phantom Canyon Preserve

Located in North-Central Colorado, 30 miles northwest of Fort Collins, you will find Phantom Canyon Preserve, one of Northern Colorado's last roadless canyons. Phantom Canyon was preserved the The Nature Conservancy in 1987. My brother-in-law spent part of his summer interning for The Nature Conservancy at Phantom Canyon Preserve. He gave tours, organized volunteers, and spent a lot of time removing invasive species.
Nicholas spent a week with his brother at the end of September and was able to visit this beautiful place. They did a lot of intense hiking through grasslands, cliffs, and the river. It was a beautiful time to be in Colorado!
Jeremy standing in the river. Behind him are many of the invasive species he spent the summer trying to remove in other areas of the preserve.
My mother-in-law loves the nature pictures with the water in the background, so I have a feeling that the following pictures were taken especially for her.
